Key Learnings from IAS 2023
1. Emergence of New Affiliate Marketing Trends: The two-day summit delved deep into the constantly evolving affiliate marketing landscape, spotlighting the emergence of new trends. Attendees gained insights into the potential of influencer partnerships, the ascent of content-driven strategies, and the growing importance of transparency and trust in affiliate relationships.
2. Growing Acceptance of Affiliate Marketing as Pure Performance Marketing: A significant shift was observed, with networks, digital enablers, and advertisers acknowledging the rising acceptance of affiliates as pure performance marketing channels. In today’s digital advertising era, the focus has shifted from paying for clicks or traffic to paying solely for actual sales. This shift underscores the efficiency and effectiveness of affiliate marketing as a marketing strategy.
3. Advocacy for the Right Attribution Tools: The summit stressed the importance of using the right attribution tools and technologies. While Google Analytics remains invaluable for reporting, it was highlighted that it falls short as a reliable attribution tool. The summit encouraged brands to integrate affiliate networks’ tracking pixels onto their websites to enhance tracking and measure the impact of affiliate marketing on their sales funnels.
4. Knowledge Exchange and Best Practices: Keynote sessions, panel discussions, and workshops led by industry experts provided valuable insights into best practices adopted by networks, advertisers, publishers, and other stakeholders in the digital ecosystem. This knowledge will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities and leveraging emerging trends to gain a competitive edge.
